Day Off

A friend flew in from far away
on route to somewhere else today
and so I cut my morning free
to walk the park, both I and he

we laughed and shared for hours there
shaking our minds of life's despair
giving old anger love's release
to welcome back internal peace

As he left he took my hand
and said, "I hope you understand
You once did just this act for me."
And with a kiss, he set me free.

meh.

Today feels a lot like spilled milk.
Tomorrow I'm staying in bed.

This world appears strange and surreal

(I suspect something's wrong with my head.)

Jester & Dunce

The Dunce, in vain, explained the point
But Jester's nose was out-of-joint
and each word spoke brought pain and dread
as Jester's staff haurranged her head

"You silly girl," he mocked, "no hope"
"for forgetful, stupid, dumb-ass dopes."
"You cannot PROVE your point to me!"
"I'm always right! Why can't you see?"

"Now you shall be THUMPED upon the crown,"
"Until you've choked this lesson down!"
True too his word, no bit unsaid
The Jester beat the poor girl dead

And nodding round for all to see
He cried "She'd listened not to me!"
"Deserved this beating, every bit!"
"You've no idea the sort of shit"

But no one listened, all just stared
at Jester's deed and lack of care
and finally guilt began to rise
from reddening cheeks to averted eyes

and Jester's staff fell from his hand
and he cried for all to understand
"It wasnt me! It's all her fault"
"into my wounds she added salt!"

But the jury felt blame on him too lay
and judge upon him sentanced pay
And as Jester quietly reviewed his lot
he regretted..... ever getting caught.
