Maturity
Sometimes... you have to let go and let God.
No matter how certain we are that we have been fastidious about the details, honest about every shortcoming, emotional setback, responsibility and/or lack thereof....
We can ensure that every doubt, red flag and/or nagging suspicion had,in a freely willed act, been addressed in the healthiest and most thorough of ways...
And we may still find ourselves foolishly, humiliatingly, and surely-feeling-rather-immaturely, in a situation we would never have dreamed ourselves.
And no amount of whining, crying, ice-cream sundaes or throwing ourselves into work will change the situation one ounce.
Tonight, I'm going to try and let the few bits of humor and irony in the situation seep through..
and remember that we all make mistakes... and that, if I really step back and look at the experience of humanity as a whole, it could all be so much worse. It doesn't mean that life wont sometimes be hard (or that I didn't just allow it to get even harder!) but, He doesn't give us more than we can handle.
Goodnight!
